Mr Vasanth Eswaramoorthy is Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in Primary and Revision hip and knee replacements.

His NHS base is at Hillingdon and Mount Vernon Hospitals, where he manages patients with lower limb injuries, as well as elective hip and knee surgery. His private practice is based at Bishops Wood Hospital in Northwood, The Clementine Churchill Hospital in Harrow and the Syon Clinic, London.

He underwent his Specialist Orthopaedic training on the South East London Orthopaedic training programme which included rotations through Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospitals and Kings College Hospital, where he gained experience in complex trauma, limb reconstruction and pelvic fracture management.

He was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in London in 2017 and the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in 2018. He then undertook three advanced Hip and Knee fellowships. The first Hip Fellowship was at the renowned Hip unit at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospitals in London. There he gained extensive experience in primary and revision hip replacement, hip arthroscopy and the management of young adult patients with hip pain.

This was followed by Complex Revision Hip & Knee fellowship at St George’s University Hospitals, a regional referral centre for revision hip and knee surgery. There he gained experience in complex revision Hip and Knee replacements, management of infected joint replacement and use of custom prosthesis.

He then undertook a travelling fellowship to the world renowned Hip unit at University Hospital Bern, Switzerland, learning latest techniques in hip surgery.

Alongside his specialist training, Mr Eswaramoorthy also undertook a Doctorate degree in Orthopaedic research on the development and clinical trial of a new type of hip replacement. This led to the award of MD(Res) from St George’s University of London. He has published in peer reviewed journals and presented in various international and national conferences.

Mr Eswaramoorthy is a member of British Hip Society, American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and British Orthopaedic Association.

Appointed at Hillingdon and Mount Vernon Hospitals in 2021, Mr Eswaramoorthy has since built a thriving practice in hip and knee surgery. His special clinical interest is in primary and revision hip and knee replacements, with a focus on curating tailored treatments for each individual patient needs.
